pull the latigo through the ring on the girth then back up through the ring on the saddle...usually about 3 times is good. tighten it but walk the horse around and tighten again. usually what i do once i have looped the latigo through the girth and saddle 3 times is on the 3rd time through the saddle ring, pull the latigo to the right and wrap around the saddle ring through the backside and then bring to front and pull through the loop that you made, kinda like tying a tie...this is really hard to describe without showing you visually but hope it helped! :)

A hind cinch can help keep the saddle from bouncing if you're on the trot. because a western saddle is somewhat longer than an english saddle, they could %. up a tremendous variety of leap off the horses again, the hind cinch can help keep that to a minimum. once you've the alternative, I always tie my important cinch. the reason I do it that way is because i will get it to in uncomplicated words the right tightness. some circumstances horses are "between the notches" and the buckle will both reason the cinch to be too tight, or no longer tight adequate. With the tie approach, it really is continuously a sturdy more effective healthful. I practice Mustangs, or maybe as this likely does no longer practice to you, a Mustang can pass nuts the first few circumstances the saddle receives positioned on. as a outcome, I positioned the breast collar on first. That way, if the pony receives nutty, the saddle falls to the front of the pony and ultimately off the neck. That has saved my saddle and horses on more effective than one social gathering. If in uncomplicated words the important cinch is on, and the pony is going nuts previously it really is tight, the saddle both can roll below the pony (undesirable) or slide again to the loins (undesirable). So even as many say do the important cinch first, i'm getting the breast collar on first, then the important cinch. You not in any respect understand even as the pony might want to have a nasty day, or get stung by potential of a bee. you may want to get a western saddle pad, yet till you be conscious how the saddle suits on the pony, i does no longer waste money on an exceptionally extreme priced one. an inexpensive Navajo blanket receives you by potential of till you will see that you'll be able to choose something more effective powerful.

Loop the latigo through the ring on the girth then back through the ring under the fender twice. Pull it snug, but not too tight. Walk the horse in a couple of small circles so it will let loose some of the air held in its stomach. Snug it up again and repeat. Do that about 3 times and then secure the latigo with a saddle knot or buckle it at the ring on the girth.

After you get it tight you need to ride for a bit and then tighten it back up again, because some horses hold in air and then let it out and your saddle can slide sideways and that is not fun!
