I wanna know how I can scan the files on Limewire or any other file sharing program, for virus's before I download the files.

If you have AVG Antivirus installed on your computer, right-click the file and select 'scan with AVG Free". If you don't have you can install it from here: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5

yes it automatically scans your computer to find files to share. you usually pic the folder you want your files to store at the beginning of installation, but it will not extract everything on your computer, just where you tell it. usually when you dowload a file it will give you a warning either a trojan horse or an error, it will ask you if you want to keep on downloading it or deny it. that would be up to u. usually i encounter this when i download porn. some songs look real, but are either samples or advertisments, this limewire cannot scan for and it is impossible to do so. and whatever you do dont get bearshare, it has limewire files anyways but has alot of spyware

Simply put, you can't. The files are on a remote computer. Anti-virus software only scans local objects (files, folders, etc.).

try nod32---it contains realtime internet scanning and threatsense technology. it blocks the threat before it enters your computer
