Are souththern people more friendlier than Northerners (yankees)?

On the whole, I find people in the South friendlier than in the North. My experience in both areas is in small towns so it's easy to compare.

People in the North keep to themselves and don't speak to strangers - even if they live next door. Folks in the South seem to reach out more. But I think underneath it all, we're all pretty much the same.

Being from the South, I'd have to say, yes but barely! Actually the difference in friendliness is so small, you might as well discount it.
The people up north are more rough from dealing with the cold and the concrete jungles (big cities). The people down South are more laid back, which can be construed as friendly but just may be...you do your thing and I'll do minds.

No they are not, you will find nice and mean folks everywhere.I think that Northern people are more reserved and keep to themselves, but that doesn't mean that they aren't friendly , not at all.

You realize that there are Black people in the South right?
Since you are so fond of the N-word, I think you should visit the South immediately and see just how friendly they can be.

I have lived in the south and on the east coast...people are people everywhere, just a bit of a different accent. I found its more about my attitude than their friendliness.

Not necessarily however there are more rich people in the north and these types are generally less friendly

i don't know, i live in the south and some people here are very friendly and welcome people. in my town, which is small, we are a little standoffish to new people at first though. i don't know much about northereners, except i can't spell that word.
