As for is it bad,I do not know. i do know that my neighbor was from Flint and they had to move so her husband could work. (No jobs for him in Flint) But she was born and raised there and was very upset and homesick for a while. She really loves her hometown.

If you are looking for a home in Flint and a good school go to
www.realtor.com. There you can find out how the schools are.

Yes, there is good and bad in all cities, but Flint is mostly bad. Flint's economy relies on the auto industry. I'm sure you've heard how badly the U.S. car manufacturers are doing. When the plants lay people off, the whole city suffers, since all the other businesses rely on auto workers spending money there. You can find dirt cheap houses, but when you try to sell, good luck. People are abandoning their homes because they can't sell them. You are left with neighborhoods full of crime. When you add cold, snowy winters, and hot, humid summers, it's a place most people would not want to live in.

I live in detroit, but sometimes go up to flint. Grand blanc is the nice suburb in flint. In flint you can buy a decent house for under 50k. Flint used to be buick city, and when you go, all you see are GM cars everywhere, but the loss of automotive jobs has really hurt the area.
Its kind of like a mini detroit, but it isnt as bad as detroit, as far as burned out buildings go

Flint is a very depressed area due to so many auto plant closings. Clio is a very nice, small suburb about 13 miles N. of Flint.
