Yes, they are, why can't women admit it, it's not sexist, its ismply true, i mean look at music, how many of the world's greatest bands are with male members? How many sports are male-dominated? How many things are unisex and female dominated? Men are dominant.

Actually males are if anything the least dominant sex, the only job males have in life is to protect and fertilise the female and actual according to asap science male mortality rates are higher then female even in utero as the mothers body doesn't invest as much into the male development and survival of the baby. Honestly men trick themselves into thinking they're better because they have higher positions but the truth is that up until recently women have been supressed by men I mean honestly look at history, when did the industrial revelation happen? Under the rule of queen Victoria. When the first world war happened and all the men went off to fight who worked in the factories? Women and they worked a hell of a lot better then men. I was even told by a MALE football coach once that girls are better at football then boys. Women also have a higher pain thresh-hold then men, women have to be more concerned with contraception

Women don't really care, men seem to need to list and rank things.But since you asked:

Has it ever occurred to you that all of the industries you mention are dominated in a business sense by men - therefore they control the outcome? If you are going to use such a biased system to judge, women are definitely leading men in creating life, I mean how many live births have you guys got on the scoreboard? Women are not the primary audience for most sports, so why should they care? Women dominate several fields such as publishing and eduction. How many copies has JFK Rowling sold of any of her Harry Potter Books? What male author has racked up those numbers? More women than men graduate college with advanced degrees everyday, starting their own businesses, etc.... Who was the last supermodel that you can name? Was it a guy? Men are the old guard. Wise up.

The male is actually just an adaptation of a female - the starting point of development for fetuses is the female model. We are the basis for everything.

With the greatest respect, I agree that all these are definitely examples of male dominated areas. But not through any sort of natural selection, but by cultural oppression and institutionalised discrimination that has been practiced - and endorsed - century upon century. It's not natural, it's just been accepted to be that way for a long time, and is perhaps one of the most pervasive and pernicious fallacies of all, invisible because of it's sheer magnitude.

I'm afraid the truth is that males do dominate, but not through any particular merit, right, or natural justice. Thankfully, in our more enlightened age, this shameful situation is being remedied, slowly but surely.

In fields such as music, sport, industry etc. the majority are men, they are paid more and are given more rights and responsibilities. They are only 'better' in the eyes of the public because we are culturally conditioned to believe that they are better. Men are no better or worse than women, and to believe there is some sort of Men are from Mars/Woman are from Venus schism, as though we were two different species, is to misunderstand an individual's humanity, regardless of their gender.

As the old saying goes: 'Men are from Earth. Women are from Earth. Deal with it.'

I like a dominant bloke. unfortunately there are too many spineless blokes out there that don't know how to treat a woman, or too many OVERLY in touch with their feminine side.

I still believe that women are in charge and they wear the pants in most homes. women are the voice of reason and logic.

Men IMO should be the dominant ones that the woman turns to when she needs a rest from being in charge all the time.

Men may be dominant but that is largely because they are stronger not because they are smarter. Whilst men are messing around playing music and sport, women are actually keeping things going. Men are dominant but have a greater tendancy towards stupidity than women (any women start wars lately?) and they also die very early so does that mean they are actually physically weaker. Oh, and they can only do one thing at a time, and monkeys are easier to train.

I agree... Men are the dominant sex..
But women have the potential to become the dominant sex.. If they stopped thinking about who is thinner than the other girl.. who has the bigger breasts.. etc, etc....

I think women get sucked in by too many fads which hold us back into the weaker sex...

Men like to think they are more dominant, but they are just more blatant & less subtle about it.
Men in bands & sports is your backup to your "theory"? Have you ever thought that women may just have more intelligent & worthwhile ways of spending their time?
With a man & woman in a relationship, the woman is the one usually who is in charge (even if she lets the man think he is lol)

So you picked a couple of things that men are more dominant in simply by the sheer numbers although I think I would have to doubt the music example. So how exactly does this explain that men are dominant? While I do beleive it to be true your examples are pretty lame

It is true, but only because women are still very much in the background nurturing these great men ... who would not be nearly as successful without the support of their women.
