Why do liberals think they aren't hypocrites themselves?

I find it humorous that liberals think they are so intellectually superior to us dumb hick conservatives. Yes you're right, you are so above me...like how you preach and preach against the war (a war Dems so conveniently forget they voted for), yet I never hear of any womens rights organizations crying for Iraqi woman freedom? Hmm, how convenient, I guess womens rights only matter if it fits my agenda.

Again you kill babies yet you are against the death penalty? Hmm, yes you're right we must defend the rights of every human (oh wait except those not born yet). But thats right, we need keep womens rights alive, oh wait except those in the middle east, we dont care about them.

So please, tell me why you are so intellectually superior?

You liberals are so passionate about your beliefs and so quick to point the finger, so I thought i should return the favor, forgive me if you found me offensive, the truth hurts and it rots to get a little of your own medicine. Can u answer?

The question was "Why do liberals......" not ALL liberals. I'm sure the asker is aware that not all are alike. I can say honestly that 90% of liberals I've run across think they are intellectually superior to conservatives. So we could probably state that a high percentage of libs are like that. They don't say they are but they act and speak that way. I have no opinion on the Iraqi womens rights thing. I wasn't aware of the issue really.

As for abortion....... nobody, not even conservative pro-lifers, want to take away anyone's choices in life. Only, since when in our nations history have people been given a choice of murdering someone or not? You can argue it's not murder and that its just a lump of flesh all you want but that is not going to make it so. That's justification of a crime against nature, God, and humanity. An excuse. What a convenient way of skipping your parental responsibilities. That is exactly what abortion is used for in the vast majority of cases. You get knocked up because you weren't responsible in the first place so go down to the clinic and spend a couple of hundred dollars and walk out scot free! Yippee! What a wonderful invention this abortion! Really what most conservatives I know are against is killing of innocents. You can't get anymore innocent that an unborn child. People on death row are NOT innocent and have done crimes so reprehensible that nothing less than death can compensate for their actions. They are not innocent anymore. They knew what they were doing was wrong and they will pay the ultimate price. Even putting aside execution, abortion is just plain wrong no matter how you look at it. Why people want to cloak it in this "womens choice" issue is beyond me. How can you sleep at night knowing that you are siding with people who knowingly have their children murdered? Or are you one of those people yourself?

Are we suppose to stomp all over the globe to preserve women's rights? Most if not all of the Iraqi women are Muslim! They like being sub servant to men. Stoned, thrown acid on etc if they screw are on their man, while they men can have x amount of wives. Change that mentality then we can chat about perceiving their rights! We have no more right preserving their rights then we have to bring a democracy to their country.
I never voted for Bush or the war, Just because the Jerks in DC did doesn't mean I did.
Don't mistake that every liberal doesn't believe in the death penalty because I do.
It's funny about the hypocrites!! Republicans believe that it's a baby right from the get go, Therefore shouldn't the republicans bury their miscarriages?? What a child miscarried at 2 month in uterus is only considered a life after it's born?? If republicans want to validate their "it's a baby" theory then they should bury their miscarriages. Either that or republicans almost never miscarry!!!!

You're voicing an opinion without stating any facts. Most Dem's are probably pro choice. So are about 30% of republicans.
As for accusations of hypocrisy it goes both ways. I don't know how anyone who claims to want to protect and defend all life can be in favor of the death penalty as many conservatives are.
What about the pro lifers who are vehemently opposed to abortion but are willing to make exceptions for rape. That sounds more like political compromise than heart felt conviction. If you believe that all fetuses are babies and that life begins at conception then there should be no exceptions to an abortion ban, except if the life of the mother is threatened.
This is all my opinion, just like your so called "truth" is your opinion.

This is a sweeping generalization. What makes you think you can apply any doctrine to a whole population? I am sorry some one may have offended you. Most of the country has turned against Mr. Bush and his war. At this time its increasingly more evident a real patriot would never have agreed to invading and occupying Iraq. As for " freedom " ? This is debatable. I see very little liberty in Iraq and not very much here in the states either and if you are opposed to abortion, then don't have one.
If we really cared about the Middle East, we would stop meddling in their politics.

Wow.....Where to begin!
Are you aware of how difficult it is to be a woman in the US?
Not all of us are living life of Midas! Women's rights are in danger everyday in America!
1) Women still are sexually harassed!
2) Women still hit that glass ceiling and are being paid less wages as a man for the same job.
3) Do you know the statistics on women who are dealing with domestic violence it's like 1 in 4. So if there's 150 Million women in the US that would mean 33 Million women are getting smacked around or worse by someone who's supposed to love them!!!
4) Is it possible that even if anyone were to try to deal with the rights of women and inequality of women in the Middle East anything absolutely a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g would be addressed?
These people think Allah (god) gives them the RIGHT to kill their females be it woman or girl if someone RAPES them because they are now impure and a poor reflection on the family!!!

Womens suffrage in the US lasted almost 200 years. And that was against so called Christian men. Can you think the problem with womens rights would be addressed sooner or more openly in a entire religious area of the world where men think that their Supreme Lord says their women are their possessions????

No one is for killing babies! Why don't you men become more self controlled and then I can assure you abortion would become nearly completely unnecessary. Women don't arrange their lives around the idea of hoping to get pregnant to have an abortion!!

As to the death penalty. I'm pretty sure most of the people in demonstrations protesting against the death penalty are the Christian Right not liberals.
I totally agree with the death penalty.
Everyone is given choices. If you choose to take someone's life aggregiously (sp) you should be gone!
If you rape women and children you should be gone!

You non-liberals like to dish it out but you sure do not want anyone to disagree with your sacred answers do you. Instead you write them and call the names, accuse them of being arrogant and then report them for their answers.

I am a liberal...I am against abortion, I am against the death penalty, I am for women's rights (oh...just had an ahaa moment). I care very much for people in the middle east, particularly my family in the armed services there, but also in those they are trying to help who truly want the help.

I an intellectually superior because I have no need to tell you why you are not.

It would follow, if we do not believe in the war in Iraq, that we would not be fighting for women's rights in Iraq either...Iraq is not a place that Dems feel America should be...so why would we be concerned about women's rights there? We can be sympathetic...but that goes for any country where people are downtrodden...not just Iraq! But where does it start and stop? Are we supposed to be fighting for the rights of women/people everywhere? How bout we just concentrate on the rights of Americans first. And thats where Pro-Choice comes in. Pro-Choice is not necessarily pro-abortion...it is the support of an American woman's right to choose what she wants to do with her body. You support an American's right to free speech...even if you don't agree with what is said. Even if it is hate mongering. You support an American's right to freedom of assembly, even if it is to spread anti-American hatred. But you deny an American woman's right to choose how to live and what she does with her own body? THAT, my friend, is hypocritical.

I don't believe that Democrats are intellectually superior...and I'm certain there are many who are hypocritical. There is good and bad in every political group, just as there is in any society. Sweeping generalizations are dangerous...and your paranoia is too.
