Close race... both have had Rumsfeld and Cheney in their administration; THAT should tell you everything! "Birds of a feather DO flock together!"

Probably already has. Nixon got away with relatively little, although many of his lies were certainly as grandiose and incredible as Bush's. Until quite recently, Bush experienced a level of credulity that Nixon could only have envied. After every one of Nixon's speeches, the news media would have "analysts" explain where, and how, the president had lied. But now Dan Rather questioned one small area where the president has obviously been disingenuous--and he disappeared from television--and until recently all the news media have been cheerleaders, not critics.
