When I lived in Edinburgh years back,I smelt burning in the house I checked everything ,fire cooker and could not trace where it was coming from so just tried to ignore it.
At the time i was living with my partner in her house say around 7 months.
Later that night my partner told me the story,9 years previous the little boy that lived in the house had died in a fire and every year on the same day this smell of burning returned throughout the house,my partner didn't want to tell me before hand for fear that I'd laugh as I've never believed in such things ,I lived in that house for 3years and every year the same thing occurred.
I swear on my life this is true !!!!
Hope this helps

A while back, I was in the U.S. Navy. One night out at sea I was on patrol. I was on Port lookout when a distress call came in. The air craft carrier that we were out at sea with reported a man over boar. On a ship there are about seven different watch stations. Well all of us heard about the call, and we had to go into recovery mode. We all were looking out for the victim. There was a full scale search going on. There were a few ships involved. On my ship we were all talking to one another. We were getting carried away telling ghost stories and one guy reported that he saw a body. It turned out to be a big clump of seaweed. We were at this search for hours. Then it was announced that we were no longer on a rescue mission, it had turned into a recovery mission. Well hours later after everyone was scared out of their minds and exhausted we were told that it was all a hoax. A man and a woman faked a man overboard to try and collect insurance money. Well it didn't work.

I was driving at night and I lived way out in the boonies so there weren't street lights or anything- not even any houses around and I saw something at the side of the road- I slowed down to about 30 thinking it was probably a deer.. As I drove by it I realized it was an old man and he made direct eye contact with me as I drove by him. My windows were tinted and I didn't have any lights on inside the car so there's no way he could see me espcially at night but he made direct eye contact as I drove by him. I started crying and hyperventilating I was so creeped out.

Back in 1973 I worked 11pm-7am at a gas station (this was way back when gas station attendants actually pumped your gas). About 1:30 in the morning a guy came in with a ski mask on and stuck a .38 in my face. Pretty spooky and needless to say I gave him whatever he wanted.
