My mom is always saying I need attitude change because I'm rude. In my heart, I really don't feel that I'm being rude, I just say what I want to say. My friend once told me, sometimes I say mean things to people and I don't even realize it.

In middle school, I was way more rude and selfish. But I changed. People don't see that.

How do I change my negative attitude to positive attitude?

Just pay a lot of attention to what you say and do.

How about you "Keep it in your pocket" another words, don't be so vocal when you observe things you don't like. You will find that if you continue to voice your opinion, someone may hand you an "Attitude Adjustment". If your Mom and a close friend are telling you you come across as mean...listen to them. You can feel " Unique" what you want, but it's all about how you transmit you feelings. You can still say what you want, using body language and facial expression. Try looking at others as real people with the same feelings as you....stop and think about how you feel when someone says " people think you're rude and selfish" , thats the feeling other people get when you ARE judgmental, rude and selfish. Who are you? Unique...yes but, in your own way. Try being Unique in a positive way, you'll like YOURSELF more.

Well, at least you are trying to change, that is the first step. Think about others before yourself and think about what you're saying and how you're saying it. We all have trouble with attitude, our attitude affects who we are and whether we do things right or wrong. Pray about it and ask God to give you the right attitude. I hope you find the answer you're looking for. Good luck and God bless!

You can say what's on your mind without being rude. It's called having tact. Think about what you say before you say it. If what you're about to say is something you wouldn't want said to you, then don't say it to anyone else. Think of a way to say it that wouldn't hurt your feelings or make you mad. I could say to you that you're a mean little brat and should shut your big mouth or I could say you really need to be nice to people and think before you speak so you don't hurt their feelings. See tact.

It's simple. Think before you speak and decide if the things you say are something you would feel good about if they were said to you.

your mom is a smart lady- just the way you write shows that you have isues. But there are good sides to this:

No one will doubt your honesty
When you die, everyone on the face of the earth will know how you feel about them.

choose to be positive; think before you speak; think about whether what you are going to say is something you would want someone saying to you.....you have to learn you can't just say what you want....some things are better kept to yourself.
