I have been bitten by this little butt head and he wonders why he is looking for a home.

Most dogs their bark I can tell its a good idea to stay away. A lot of dags bark because they aren't getting attention. Usually if aproached properly a family pet that has been socialized will not bite. I have five large dogs and several fosters including snappy max and the teenagers come in and out all the time. The barking annoys me more than the biting. If Im afraid a dog might bite there are other measures to be taken but no reason to punish a dog for telling you someone is at the door or coming into your house.

Before I answer your question, you need a lesson on spelling. This is how you spell B-E-L-I-E-V-E. Now, I think that It depends on what kind of dog it is. For example my dog is a Rat Terrier/Chihuaha barks viciously, however, she never bit anyone in the entire 10 and a half years of her life. Now, if it was a German Sheperd, then it would be the other way around. The way that you can tell if a dog is going to bite is it's bark. You need to find out whether it's an excited bark or a mean bark.

That basically means that some dogs bark a whole lot but wouldn't bite anyone or rarely would. With mine...both of them thier bark is worse than their bite. They bark at everything but would probably never bite anyone unless they were being hurt. My mother has one though that you could not say that about...her bark and bite are both the same....bad!

Of course that refers to the fact that some dogs bark their warning and then don't bite and others growl and then bite.
I look out for the flattened ears and growl. While I have sensitive ears, a "quiet" command works wonders, and knowing when to back off a growling dog is a good idea. I have to agree with you, I'll take the bark over the bite. Ouch.

Well obviously a dogs bite is much worse than his bark...I wonder who invented that ridiculous saying... Maybe they should get bitten by a dog and then change their idea...haha

well a dog will only bite if it's really pushed. It will always bark first so I'd say the bark is the worst. If you're stupid enough to ignore the warning then you deserve it

in all honesty, i'm sure any normal person would rather have a dog bark at them then be bitten. but i'm thinking that the saying isn't really talking about dogs at all. :-)
i'm sure you knew that.

Good point but I think it really means the most fierce sounding dogs aren't usually the ones that bite.
