This is a very hard question to answer, because there are so many. In my opinion, the best of all time is Final Fantasy VII. Some that rank right up there with it are Earthbound on super nintendo (this one is probably just as good as FFVII), there is also Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, and last but not least Super Mario RPG The Legend of the Seven Stars. All in all, pretty much anything square-enix makes.

i can't decide between Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV Advance, Phantasy Star IV, and Dragon Warrior IV
many games get up there in the higher ranking, like Zelda: Link to Past, Illusion of Gaia, and Disgaea (an SRPG) but the all time best is hard to call, especially when the age of the answerer will mold the answer

Any of the Legend of Zelda games, Elder Scrolls series, and Neverwinter Nights and Baulders Gate and Diablo is fun too.

The best I've played, by far, is the Zelda series. Specifically Link's Awakening and Ocarina of Time but not Majora's Mask.
