I think he just screwed himself, a la Michael Richards. He'll have a hard time making a living off his name and reputation after this.

He's a hateful, disgusting idiot -- but at least he's an honest one.

I think that homophobia in professional sports is a HUGE problem. Has there ever been a pro athlete in any of the four major sports that has come out BEFORE retirement? They all seem to come out of the closet afterward.

Why? It's not because of concerns about the media or the fans, in my opinion. It's because of concerns about their teamates. They know they'd react harshly, and Hardaway's comments have shed some light on just how harsh they would be.

I'm always sad to hear how people had to pretend they were something they're not in order to pursue their dreams. It was Ameche's dream to play in the NBA, but he had to pretend he wasn't gay in order to protect himself.

When pro sports are at their best, they are inclusive, not exclusive; they unite, not divide. When athletes react the way that Hardaway did, they lessen their sport and its appeal to everyone. It's short-sighted and it's hateful and bigoted.

i think of that detest became a stable notice and it did no longer would desire to flow that some distance, yet no person gets bent out of shape whilst somebody says "I hate Christians" - there seem some communities available that that's barely ok to hate and that's no longer cool- if those human beings have a appropriate to precise their opinion, no rely how slender minded and ignorant, so does Tim Hardaway. I do although agree that heterosexual human beings have each appropriate to call for a seperate locker room/ changing area than homosexuals- in simple terms as men and females have seperate changing aspects for obtrusive reasons- I stronglly sense those comparable reasons notice and are in simple terms as valid and a guy or lady has the main suitable to be in an atmosphere the place they do no longer would desire to hardship approximately sexual privateness. i do no longer hate homosexuals- I do although strongly disagree with their existence form and options, does that make me a homophobe- NO - i'm no longer nervous of them, does it make me hateful- NO this is in simple terms narrowminded lack of know-how. i'm specific there are issues approximately my existence that my closest acquaintances disagree with- they nonetheless love and take care of me with dignity and appreciate- no longer something decrease than i might take care of the different guy or woman no rely what options they make- i'm able to nonetheless have and freely convey my evaluations relating to the gay existence form. as that's maximum of united statesa. is being lied to and deceived relating to the realities of this existence form- the day will come whilst the certainty of it is going to likely be uncovered- i do no longer hate human beings that stay this existence- i'm sorry that they sense they might desire to stay it and that i injury for them the implications they are going to gain via fact of it.

How do I feel about him reiterating the sentiments of the majority of men in this country? I agree 100%. Why are people making such a big deal about a man speaking out regarding a lifestyle that the masses have viewed as disgusting since the beginning of time. Tim Hardaway's thinking is correct, if you disagree with him, your thinking is incorrect.

I think he's a gutless turd.

Not because he "hates gays", he's entitled to his opinion. He's gutless because he backed off of them as soon as the heat was on him.

If you're going to say something, fine, say it. But stand by what you say, no matter what the repercussions are. Otherwise, you don't believe in it at all.

Probably only a matter of time before he blames "alcoholism". That seems to be the trend these days.

I'm glad the man spoke his mind. I think he's an the extreme side of this issue for certain and doubt most players in the league have nearly as harsh of feeling about gay's as Tim does. Black guys tend to be on the downlow as being gay in black culture is almost a crime. That's too bad that they have to feel ashamed and spread HIV to their girlfriends. I'm not talking about all males of course, just a small percentage. I really feel sorry for black women, they have the toughest life outside of a muslim woman.

I think it shows how ignorant and close minded some are. It's 2007 and there are some people who still think like that. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion but there is a better way of going around it.

I think the man is just voicing his opinion. If he hates gays, he hates gays!! Freedom of speech baby. I do think that some things should be kept to yourself but it's too late now. Lol, you know BeavanJ is gay!
