I really like my friend and I wouldn't do anything to hurt her. But I kinda think she might be a lesbian...do you think she is? Whenever my friends and I talk about a really cute guy she says you guys are weird. She wants to drive a truck instead of a car. She wants 2 sons and not a daughter. She wears the same clothes over again and she doesn't really take care of herself. She has never had a boyfriend (which is not really a problem because I haven't either). We are all 14. Thank You to the all that answers!
Does it make you a lesbian if you have never had a boyfriend at 14 because I am NOT one?

No.. You don't have to have a boyfriend at 14.. 15... 18.. 20...

People are different, we all grow at different rates, mature at different times. You friend just might be having fun and living life to it’s fullest. She might be a tomboy at times and a nice young lady at times.

The world does not revolve around relationships and sexuality.

BUT what you have to know is the some people are very deeply shy sometimes. They will not even reveal if they DO like a guy or girl, even to best friends.

What you might want to do in order to gain her deepest confidence is ask a question like. “Ok, you HAVE to pick one boy that you would really, really like to go out with.” Or something like that. She has to pick one… Then be very supportive of the answer she gives.

Just because she wants to drive a truck or have boys for children. Those are her choices right now. She may change with time. She may not. Be very supportive and agreeable, don’t make fun.

It doesn't make you a lesbian.
14 is an age when people start wondering about boys and boyfriends, and some even feel that NOT having one is a problem. Well, it's not.
Your friend probably didn't mature as much as you and still doesn't like the idea of dating boys, looking pretty, or planning her future.
Give it time, it's too early to tell.
Just accept your friend for who she is. And if she IS lesbian, don't worry about it. But don't assume, cause you will be really embarrased if it turns out that she's not a lesbian.

No No and No.
She may just have other interests and have thought about life more seriously than getting all cutsy over guys. She is probably just a realist. I was pretty much like she is and still am at my old age.
I am everything elite_wom said about herself
I drive a truck, I dress down (or up on occasion) and have
2 boys and 2 girls,
All my life I would rather listen to guys talking about motors and politics than listen to girls gabbing over, "Do you think he will like my outfit, do you think my make up is alright, which pair of earrings do you think he will like?"
There is no real reason to believe she is lesbian unless she starts making sexual advances toward other girls.
It is pure peer pressure and the mind set of kids nowadays to think that you have to have a boyfriend at fourteen. You should be enjoying yourself at this age instead of worrying about getting into relationships that most likely will not last anyway.

No, it does not make you a lesbian, at 14 you do not need to even worry about having a boyfriend, concentrate on more important things like school, and getting the most you can from your education, as for your friend, time will tell, I just hope you will be supportive. People are who they are.

i am a woman who loves men
i have a son and always wanted a son
i drive a big truck and wear work boots and flannel shirts
i can dress the girly part if i need to and i do for work sometimes

i was 18 before i had my first boyfriend

by the way
my sister is gay and she drives a car, wears dresses , makeup and had lots of boyfriends when she was young

no it doesn't make her a lesbian at all!
none of those things you mentioned make her a lesbian.
If you care about your friend like you say you do, you will leave this alone and let her make up her own mind. she might just be a bit boyish and not enjoy girly things. but it still doesn't make her a lesbian. and if you tel anyone else about this she might start being bullied. its very easy for rumours to get out of control.

If she is a lesbian then she will tell you when she is ready.
but i know from my own experience i wasn't ready to tell anyone till i was 18! so respect your friend and stay quiet.

she is too young to really know what she is so just let her live. does it really matter if she is a lesbian? she's your friend don't attach labels to people just admire them for the kind of person they are.
