Do online investment and trading websites, such as Scottrade, Ameritrade, Fidelity, et al. issue stock certificates when you buy a share?

I'm not ready to get into investing. All I want to do is buy a few shares of various companies - simply to be a shareholder.

Yes that will issue certificates, but only if you pay about $50 extra to cover the cost of transferring the shares from the brokers (street name) account into your (name) account & have them printed up and mailed to you.

Yes, if you request it, but I'm sure the policy differs between each online broker.
