Sorry if this sounds a little gross but ..

I just went to the bathroom, thinking i could have gotten my period (im not sure when im due as i had a baby 11wks ago by c-section + i got my tubes tied). But instead there was a yellow discharge with spots of blood and it was mucousy, there was also something that was white. ( to put it bluntly and sorry if this sounds disgusting but its like my vagina coughed up flem with blood spots in it ) .. Please help if you might have an idea on what this could have been and has it happend to you?

About two weeks ago i did get a very light period and only lasted a few days and a couple of days b4 that i had spotting and i think some after aswell .. normally there heavy and last 5 to 6 days!

The lack of periods as before is fine, especially as you have had your tubes tied. I'm not sure but I'm assuming this would cause you potentially to have lighter periods in future (not a bad thing!).

The discharge is a bit different. It could just be that you were producing more vaginal fluid today, and that it is spotted with blood because you are spotting anyway.

According to the link below it is not unusual to have a yellow white discharge up to six weeks post c-section, so it may be that your body is just taking a little longer to recover.

The fact that it is yellowy, (although it depends how yellow!) could be something to be wary of. If it really is phlegmy, proper greeny yellow, rather than just a creamy yellow, then I would call your ob for a quick chat. If it happens again you may be asked to retain it if possible, sounds really gross, but them seeing it is really the best way to judge what it is!

Do you feel fine generally? If you have a slight fever, or if the discharge smells icky (where you notice it without having to stick your nose in it!), you could have the beginnings of an infection, which would not be unusual given the surgery you have had, the fact that your hormones will be naturally all over the place and you are possibly run down a little from looking after a baby and giving birth!

If you do not want to call your ob (we never like to "bother" doctors do we? Although we shouldn't worry) you could always ask your local pharmacist, he or she should be able to advise you whether or not to consult your ob, give you the best course of action to take.

Hey I had 3 c sections...If you had your tubes tied like me too by the way...

Are you have stomach cramps?
MAYBE they left some kind of gauze inside of you!
Do you have a low grade fever?
Any redness wear your incision is?
IF so DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO BACK TO THAT SAME DR
Go to FRESH DR BECAUSE IF THEY DID THAT TO YOU you have a law suit and you will win..
Get checked before toxic shock or more weird stuff starts happening!

im pretty sure this is normal... just to be safe you should bring it up at your next ob appointment... but again i am sure its fine...

IF you start to notice a bad.. and i mean bad, odor.. then it would be more serious...

but again i think you are fine.
when i had my daughter my periods used to last 3 days.... now.. my periods are SO irregular. sometimes they last 3 days sometimes a full week. sometimes light.. sometimes heavy.
again just bring it up to the doc when you get a chance or if it really bugs you.

take care.

It is probably ok since you just had a baby and haven't started having periods again. If it happens again, I would call your OB/gyn.
