Ok, first of all, democratic liberalism has socialistic and Marxist roots and therefore is significantly influenced by communism. With this influence, the Democratic party has become the Neo-Marxists of today. They have changed the party and made it Marxist leaning. George P. Lakoff from the University of California, Berkeley is one of the fathers of Neo-Marxism and the ACLU and is a major funding and enforcement body that influences liberal and Neo-Marxist thought in the US.
Liberals and Neo-Marxists believe in the following:
-- Christians are obstacles to an "enlightened" society
-- Drugs should be legalized
-- Homosexual marriage is equal to marriage between a man and a woman
-- Against states legally mandating that parents be informed when their underage daughters have abortions
-- Abortion is good for society and is not killing a human being
-- Euthanasia is also good for society and not killing a human being
-- America is harmful to the world
-- We should appease our enemies
-- People should be allowed into the US without legal process and there should be open borders
-- Large socialized & state run programs with high taxation are good for society such as socialized medicine, transportation, media, products and services.
-- Believe in "income redistribution"--that is, the government taxing affluent Americans at a higher proportional rate in order to fund entitlements to the less well off.
Neo-Marxists want to change America by weakening the country as a nation and significantly destroying the social fabric that has been been built over 200 years of our existence. This is a cultural war, the stakes are high, and America is losing its sense of morality.

Communists are willing to stand up and die for what they believe in. Liberal democrats stand for no principles and therefore are not willing to die for anything or anyone; they just want power, they add nothing to GNP, and have no idea how to create productive jobs. All of their 'job creation" is either part of a government program or the response of the market to some legislation or regulation. Liberal democrats want capitalists around because they think they can live off the work and wealth creation of capitalists by taxing them the way ancient empires turned their vanquished foes into vassal states. Communists want no capitalists; even if they could tax them into oblivion, it is more important that the state have control over not only assets, but labor, thought, and attitudes.

Liberals hate capitalism? Both forms of Modern Liberalism (Social Liberalism & Market Liberalism) purport a market economy (with Social Liberalism also purporting social justice). Liberalism has absolutely nothing in common with Communism. Communists despise Liberals and see them as proponents of Capitalism and the Bourgeoisie. Liberalism is a centrist-oriented ideology in the Western world (Social being centre-left and Market being centre-right). I really wish the American right would stop using Liberalism as a blanket term for everything left of right. Liberalism, Social Democracy, Socialism, Marxism, etc. are all widely different ideologies, but are all grouped under the label of "Liberalism" by the American right.

Good question. I understand the why of the question, but there is a vast difference. Under Communism you have no free vote. Everything that you have is because the state has allowed you to have it, i.e.; Housing is according to the needs of you and or your family, where and what you work at is up to the state, your total being is controlled by the state.
A liberal Democrat is another story. Where they are in favor of many of the same things as communists they have a constraint, it is called a conservative.
A liberal Democrat falls some where between a full blown communist and a Conservative,.....frankly they pi$$ me off

Since you brought up the term "communist" I presume you want me to compare them economically. A liberal democrat wants progressive income taxes and for the government to regulate the economy when it starts to exploit either the workers or business owners unfairly. Communism is public ownership of all means of production inside of a economically classless society.

Liberal democrat is just someone who supports the democratic party and primarily embraces liberal ideals. Communist is a word you overheard in a conversation that was far above your head.

A liberal democrat hides their true intentions (communism) where a communist just comes out and is honest about it. Who is more dangerous? I would say the one that hides what they are really going for!

Communists admit that they want to run your lives; Liberals use hidden agendas to seduce you into letting them run your lives because they think they are smarter than you, smater than God, and they know best how to spend your money so you must give it to them via higher taxes.
