I am 16 and a half weeks pregnant and I don't have a bump yet. I really want a bump. when did everyone else begin to get a bump? I can never tell if I am just bloated or if I am beginning to get a bump. Everyone keeps asking me if I have a bump yet and they are suprised that I haven't! Is this normal? I'm not a fat person, I am just over 8 stones at the min. I lost half a stone because of morning sickness - could this have contributed to the lack of a bump? thanks for your answers.

on my first pregnancy i didnt get a bump until i was about 20 weeks at first i jus looked like i ahd ate too much then it got rounder and looked more like i was pregnant i was only 8 stone too so my bump tended to stay quite small and bloomed out more towards the end of my pregnancy on my second my bump came very quickly that is how i knew i was pregnant !
also it depends because some people carry more to the back and so dont really get a bump
you should be glad anyway as i was like u and didnt get a bump at first i went straight back into a size 6
good luck.

some people may never have a bump. eveyone is different and so is the baby inside of you. some people are clearly pregnant 5 or 6 months down the line whilst others its a bit later. and some have big bumps whilst others are barely visible. there is no definate definition of when and how big a bump is. as for losing weight, during pregnancy many women may actually put on weight due to a lot of resting around or eating for two policy! if you are worried you should go see the doctor or family nurse and they might be able to give you advice e.g. nutritional advice etc. hope this helps.

There is no normal when it comes to pregnancy, most people I know developed a bump at about 5 months... However your size could be a contributor - I always thought that skinny women would have a more profount bump but my friend, mellissa was still wearing her size 10 jeans when she was 7 months in! She did pop out just a month before her due date though and she had the biggest most beautiful bump I ever saw!

I was 7 stone 10 when I got pregnant so about the same as you. I didn't show unil six months even then I just looked a bit fat. A few weeks later it all came a once. Could only wear maternity clothes in last 4 weeks - they were all too big.

Good news was got back into my size 8 jeans after 2 weeks of giving birth.

Usually you don't start to show until around 4 months, especially with your first pregnancy. I just felt chubby then. I didn't get a round belly (bump) until between 5 and 6 months. It seemed like it happened overnight too, not just to me, but everyone I knew thought the same thing. I know how anxious you are to look pregnant, but try to be patient, it will happen sooner than you think. Best wishes for a healthy and happy baby.

When my wife was pregnant with our first, she didn't start showing until she was around 7-months along. She weighed 125-pounds when she got pregnant and by the end, she weighed in at 165-pounds. There she was, skinny arms, skinny legs, ALL belly! And most of it disappeared as soon as she had our son. Now, with her second pregnancy, she started showing at 4-months, but I was told by her that it was perfectly normal to show earlier the second go-round. And as before, she's all belly! Don't worry about the bump, yet. You'll get it soon enough, and from the sounds of it, you'll most likely be all belly, too! Then you'll be able to display it proudly. Congratulations!

I got mine at 8 weeks .That is very unsual though. With my second it was 6 weeks. But I have a very short waist, even hard to shop for pants when not pregnant, my waist is short. After my initial 'bump' though... I stayed the same until around 14 weeks, then I really started showing. I think the average is around 16-22 weeks... I know it is exciting.. congradulations!

Hi,

I am 19 weeks and don't have a bump - but i am also thin and tall and was told that since it is the first baby i may not show that much at all. So don't worry about it, at this stage there is more fun stuff to think about like baby names.

When I had my second scan at 20 wks I was still wearing my normal jeans. My stomach was hard but I didn't have a bump, it was a couple of weeks after that I started to get a definite bump.

I was the same, everyone always asking me where do I hide the baby always irritated me, I only started showing at 19 weeks. Many woman looses a couple of kilo´s because of morning sickness, that is totally normal. Just be patient it will come on it´s own, I´m almost 22 weeks now and my tummy is getting bigger every week...

Good luck !!
