my mate told me i would like it and to go hang around a tiolet and someone would come up to me and ask if i want to cottage.
im not even to sure what it is he says he loves to do it and i would to but i need to know what to do if im gonna do it

I went to a local men's public toilet (before they were all bricked up to keep junkies and cottagers out) and I picked up with a guy there, and we did the nasty in a cubicle.
I say nasty but it was a bit of a thrill i suppose ( the likelyhood of being "caught", but no... ultimatley a clean warm bed with music and relaxed privacy is a hell of a lot nicer than kneeling in cold urine amongst the disguarded needles and litter in a stinky ( god that amonia and bleach stinks !!) toilet with a stranger. . . also getting home and washing the disinfectant and urine smell out of expensive lingerie is a nightmare !

Cottaging is a really old term, I think it was because in the old days public toilets looked like little cottages. Back in those days it was nothing like today where one can be quite open about your sexuality. Back then you would not have dared to say anything about being gay. There were a lot of people very closeted, because for the first instance it was illegal to have sex with another man, although there was no actual law regarding lesbians because Queen Victoria could not accept that women could do such a thing. It was called the forbidden love. Oscar Wilde the famous play-write spent time in Reading jail because he had a gay affair with some famous aristocrat. I do think though you are taking a risk with having this sort of sexual encounter in a public toilet as there are so many diseases you could catch and it really is quite a nasty place to have sex with someone. Unless of course you are just after the thrill of it all. Think first....

How strange - a gay man's question given the only real answer so far by a female!
It's an old idea that gay men use to use as a means of meeting other men, but most of the "cottages" have been closed down, so they use other means to meet nowadays.

You may like it and you may not it depends on your particular sexual bent. Having said that I don't think it would be a very pleasant way of meeting a sexual partner there are various contact magazines that would enable you to do this. If your are going to take care. Practise safe sex and leave most of your money and your credit cards at home

Isn't it mainly the domain of gay men? I think it's where gay guys hang around public toilets and wait for other, hopefully gay guys to come in and they have "sexual relations". Basically, I think it's guys shagging each other in public loos.
