This is the dumbest question I've ever heard. Especially considering all the 'sports' that are out there that really are NOT sports. First, I think you should stop watching baseball and actually play it sometime. Oh, except I noticed you said you just stand in a meadow when you play. Maybe that is why you don't think it is a sport, you're not any good at it. For those who love the game, and love playing it, we don't chase the ball, we catch the ball. And if you know what you are doing, you know that you could have a part in almost every play. When the ball doesn't come directly to you, there is setting up to be a cut off man, or coming behind the guy who is trying to catch the ball just in case he misses it, so you can get to it quicker. There is always someone to back up in baseball. Then there is getting up to bat. If you can hit, there is plenty of opportunity to use some of your energy for things other than a nap. Once you race to first base, you have to be somewhat intelligent while you are between the bases, or your teammates will never get you home. There's other aspects of the game as well, but it's obviously way over your head.

Don't just go up and face a 95 mph pitch...now TRY to actually make contact with that ball, then hit it fair, then make sure nobody catches it if it's in the air, and then make it to 1st base (or farther) without getting out. Oh, and that's just to get a hit in the statbook. I'd hate to "BORE" you with more explanations so I won't. And who plays baseball in a meadow....scratch that...what is a meadow? It may be boring to watch but it's one of the top three hardest sports to play. Baseball (hitting) Golf (making a ball into a 4 inch diameter hole under par) and Hockey (Ice and a Golie guarding a small *** net).

But simply put, you are stupid

Not a sport? BASEBALL IS NOT A SPORT?

Baseball combines speed, agility, flexibility, eye-hand coordination, strength and split second judgements of all kinds on every pitch and play. Day in and day out over a 6 month season.

Or is it that you prefer the brute strength and not much else that's a part of football. In that case, you don't every want to tell a catcher that baseball isn't a sport. Or second baseman or a shortstop.

Now golf, that's not a sport. Neither is racing. After all, in racing, it's all about the car.

if u don't like baseball just don't watch it i bet nobody forces u to sit down and watch it. Try hitting a ball with a bat at 90 miles per hour and tell me if u could hit it 400 feet up in the air. Maybe u tried baseball when u were young and wasn't good enough and know u are trying to put down the sport!!!!

Usually questions like this come from people who either
A) Is not smart enough to understand what is going on
B) Tried to play but was very bad at it
C) Both

I believe this person falls into both categories.

Using that kind of thought process, I could make arguments that any sport is not really a sport.

How about 22 guys kicking a LARGE ball on a meadow. You sound like a sod from mother England.

Baseball is a sport. There is hitting, running, throwing, catching and jumping. It can sometimes be a contact sport. Since it has all that I have mentioned, it is therefore a sport.

It takes skill, people run, it takes endurance. So yeah I'd say it's a sport. Not every sport is an aerobic exercisie that requires you to be running the entire time.
