It happens, but keep in mind the general men is visual.... she does not have to have a pretty face. Men have different way looking at women and define them as pretty. For some it's a pretty face, eyes, mouth, breasts, bottom, long legs, hair, thick, thin or a combination of those.
The prettiness they fall for will remain, but it can become less important if the character or behavior becomes a burden or become dis-loyal if the sex is boring or bad.
But I assume a women has the same things, but you just turn the priority around.

i think the lust fades
i mean look at hollywood guys, they have sex with gorgeous women and then get bored of them. and ordinary guys get bored of their hot girlfriends too. so i don't go for looks, i go for personality and looks are like the bonus.

well,hmm this is a hard question.I know that the instant you start going out with a girl all girls pay attention to you.Like my girl friend is pretty I thought she was hotter before we started dating.
Now one of her friends who I didn't think was so hot before now is like a bombshell to me.I guess it's just how the mind works.
