I guess it could be possible, has i had a full hysterectomy following my docs advice, he suggested it for the resons of having no problems with my ovaries for the future, has for being painless i wouldnt know, has we know the female body is complex, you must encourage her to visit the doc, reassure her its not embarassing the doctors are very understanding with things like this, your obviously a really good concerned friend, go with her for support, it helps having someone there to chat to when your waiting.......i hope your friend will be ok

i to had a hysterectomy just in december and the only thing they left was my left ovary at my last appointment I had told the dr that i was still having some pain around that area and he said it is probably ovulation pain, that my left ovary will still ovulate even though the egg has nowhere to go from there...if my ovary can still ovulate that means i would assume that you can still form a cyst there.i did have a bleeding cyst on my right 1 and this was very painful, this was the reason for taking the right side I also had endometriosis which was the reason for the rest of the hysterectomy...go ahead and ask your dr thats what they are there for

It is very common for women to have ovarian cyst with a partial hysterectomy, with a partial hysterectomy the ovaries are left, to avoid onset of early menopause, i know this because i had a full hysterectomy and had to remove both my ovaries due to fibroids.

Yes, but only a scan can prove it. A partial hysterectomy usually
means the ovaries remain. It used to be quite normal as it saved women needing HRT. Don`t be embarassed your GP has heared
it all before. Don`t leave it to long.....Good Luck.

If she only had a partial hysterectomy , then yes she can still get cysts, some are painless, but most of the time you need to do something to shrink them or they can be very painful. she needs to see her gyno.

My doctor just found a small cyst on my ovary, although I didn't know it was there. It never bothered me. I had an ultrasound, but my doctor just wants to watch it for now. Apparently they can go away on their own. They come and go with hormone changes and lots of women get them and never know they've had one. However, there are different kinds of cysts, so your doc will probably have to look at it first in order to decide the treatment. Good luck.
