I downloaded a avi movie and burned on to a dvd - r disc, but can't watch it on a dvd player. What am I doing wrong? It works on on dvd drive on pc.

You need to convert avi to dvd before burning, you can use this free converter: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Avi2Dvd.htm

Sometimes people burn DVD's as data dvd . It wont work that way . If you use Nero or any similar programme then you should select Make Video DVD to make it run on the DVD player .

u need a player that is "divx" compatible .... or u need to convert the download to dvd format with some application like winavi ... also some older dvd players may not even support dvdr disks ...
