I'll assume that you mean extraterrestrail aliens...
I would (like to think that I would) try to communicate with it. I would get a stick and draw on the ground if I had to (though paper would be prefereable). I'd try to see if I could puzzle out where it was from by drawing a diagram of our solar system and encouraging it to do the same. I wouldn't assume that it would have the ability to communicate in my language, but hey, it had the ability to travel all the way here, so who knows, right?
Yeah, I'd probably be pretty nervous, too. I don't think I would run, or crap myself, unless it and its friends gave me some indication that they were about to harm or eat me. Why would this alien come to the surface to harm me? Our biology would probably be so different that I would either not taste very good, be poisonous, or both. And if it wanted to kill me, it could have done so long before it revealed itself to me. If it turned out to be a diabolically evil thing, like a interstellar serial killer, I still wouldn't run. What would be the point?
Anyway, it's a neat question. I suppose no one would ever kow how they would react in such a bizzare circumstance.

I would assume it would have some sort of universal translating device so I would speak English.
Then I would ask it to go into orbit and scan the Earth and have it send all the information on, as yet, undiscovered buried treasure to my GPRS mobile with locations on the map.
Then I would go find that treasure and pretend that I had discovered it all by myself through hard research as I sell it to museums for millions of quid.
And laugh all the way to the bank while I sign the movie rights.

I did meet what I thought was an alien, I called him so to his face, he said who are you calling an alien, if its a matter of time I have more right to live on Earth then any human alive today, because he said he was created not born in Ireland 3 or 4000 years ago. Absolutely true. Though I don't expect any one to believe it. I met him on board a flying saucer, around 30 years ago.

If you mean an intelligent being from another planet, I would like to exchange information about culture, history, planet, society, science, technology, everything really.
An alien intelligent being would have lots to teach me.

I would be thrilled! I would try to communicate. If easily possible, I would ask every question I could possibly think of that I ever wanted to know about their home, technology, evolution, etc.

Assuming by "alien" that you mean some sort of extra-terrestrial life, then how would you know if it were an alien? How would you recognize it as such? I mean, I assume you have never seen one before??? (this is actually not such as daft an answer as it might seem!).

Hijack his spacecraft and fly away. Or charge him loads of wad to clean his windscreen. Or direct him to a less hostile planet...Mars for example.

I would ask them to take me on board their beautiful ship and show me the world as I'd love to see it.
