The degree to which the media is gorging on Anna Nicole's death, like maggots on a corpse, is reprehensible. However, the response the public is displaying, is not only worse, but indicative of why the media covers these things incessantly, or at all! To me, the real question is, why are people so judgemental of someone that they DO NOT KNOW. I realize she put herself out there - publicity, reality show, etc. - but does she really deserve such disgust and outright hatred from the public? Do we know enough about her to make such judgements? Yes, she for sure exhibited signs of chemical abuse. For this, she should get sympathy and understanding, not scorn and derision. A few phrases come to mind; there for the grace of God, go I/ walk a mile in her shoes... the bottom line is that only her friends and family know her. How mean is it to say, "who cares that she's dead - she deserves it - good riddance, and all the other sickening things. Yes, there are much more important things going on in this world, good point. That does not mean that her death is not worth our thoughts, or media coverage, or whatever. Basically, you are saying that she, as a person, is worthless. I don't know who I feel more sorry for, her, or you. You're not alone though, I've heard a lot of people say horrible things about her. To me, it's a sad statement about the general closed minded, narrow mentality of a scary amount of people.

I agree with you.
I'm so sick of it.
She died. She was on drugs. Do a DNA test and figure out whose baby it is. And get over it.
This country is pathetic. Our first vegetable is the french fry. Schoolchildren recognize Ronald McDonald more readily than George Washington. We are slaves to the television. Our top web searches are for Paris Hilton. It's ridiculous; There're so many more important things than Anna Nicole Smith.

Lately, I've been turning the channel when a story comes on about her. I have to admit. I am intrigue too. It is getting to be too much. The story keep continuing. There are more important things like the war, poor schools, poverty and home security. The media just wants ratings. Anna is dead now. She can't defend herself.

I'll second that. She's gone, the powers that be are dealing with it, let's just move on. It's not like we lost a cure for cancer here.
