Knowing the species would help a lot.

Names I have used include:
Japuta, Mylo, and Pele- South American Redfoot tortoises. Jabuta is what they call them in their range. Mylo is a variation on a name from the Lord of the Rings (Milo), and I wanted an M name because it has an M on its shell. Pele is a South American soccer (football) player.

Sasha- Russian tortoise- typical Russian spy name

Tsavo and Etosha- African Hingebacks, named for a couple of wildlife parks in the area they come from.

I think you should name it after this guy:

Aeschylus (525-456 BCE), famous playwright of ancient Greece, is said to have been killed by a tortoise which hit him on the head having fallen from the talons of an eagle flying overhead.

(I would probably pronounce it ASH-a-lus or a-SHY-lus, but I don't know.) Ash or Shy for short?

Maybe Blousy? (Blousy brown). Also, try being more specific--is the tortoise a girl or a boy?-- Try Sam or Dandy?
