I know your dilemma, unfortunately at this day and age you pretty much need a college degree or you have to have a very marketable skill that companies are looking for. Even with a degree there are no guarantees that you will land a good job. College is taught with much of the curriculum being theory which many times doesn't translate into a practical setting. Which means usually what you learn in college you will never use once you get a job. What a college degree says is that you are disciplined enough to further your education and can learn almost anything that there is to be taught. You are still young and have opportunities to find a job with a lot of growth potential, but I would never give up on the possiblilty of going back to school. It is possible to have a great job and not make much money immediately. Any job that will send you to training even though they may only pay minimum wage while your in training is well worth it. Even if it was a trade school. Since I don't know your background or what interests you have, I am answering this is in very general terms. My career path has taken me to some very undesireable jobs and I was in my 30's when I finally landed where I hope to be till I retire. One thing that I did when I was younger was join the military and that helped me in terms of preparing me for a very competitive job market. But by the time I was your age my military commitment was complete. One thing that is very important that will make you very successful is to have a job or career that you love. There is no sense in working in a place that may pay you a good salary but leaves you stressed out and unhappy. Most people who are successful in their careers are people who absolutely love what they do. Like me. Good luck and God bless you.

If you don't want to go back to college, have a look at Home Learning courses - Computeach for instance, that sort of thing.
You will have to put SOME effort in, it won't just happen.

Well, first of all, it's not all about education; a majority has to do with experience. As with anything, you can achieve what you want, but you have to work hard; even harder if you don't want that framed paperwork! So find something that you love, because it's going to take a strong passion for what you're doing...and stick with it...take it as far as you can. Find a company that promotes from within...because last thing you want is to work your *** off and have someone else step in at the last minute.

It depends whether or not you have chosen a career path to stick to...If you can show your potential employer that you have had relevant experience in the field through previous employment, then it goes a long way to actually getting a better paid job.
Sometimes moving on can be better than stagnating in the same job for years! Employers sometimes do not appreciate all the experience you have gained with them!

Hiya, unfortunately in order to get a good job you either have to work your way up or go to college. You can't have your cake and eat it. Any thing worth having must be worked for.
