Hi. The northern hemisphere is turned slightly away from the Sun until March 21 or so and is now in winter. Anyplace south of the equator is is turned slightly towards the Sun, and so is summer.

Nippon is in winter --- we in oz are in summer (albeit for not too much longer ) but where i live in the tropics -- we only have two seasons --- summer & winter ( and winter lasts about 6 weeks --- at best) if you call 23 degrees c . cold --- we do -- but we don't need ; or indeed own a heater of any sort --- bugger of a life eh !!!??

any country in the southern hemisphere is now expieriencing summer. Japan i think is in the northern hemisphere.
