My wife's doctor didn't see her until she was 12-weeks along. However, he called in a prescription for prenatal vitamins for her to start taking before she ever came in. It all depends on the doctor. Some will see you sooner, some won't. And if you'd like to come in sooner, let the doctor know that, too.

She should call an obstetrician as soon as she realizes she's pregnant. The obstetrician will tell her when to come in. Some doctors will ask the patient to come in right away, and others will want to wait until the woman is 8 or 12 weeks along. (The doctor can calculate how far along the woman is based on the first date of her last period.)

If she has questions or concerns about her diet, exercise , work environment, etc., she should address them with the doctor over the phone immediately. Also, she should be on prenatal vitamins if she is not yet on those.

As soon as a woman finds out she is pregnant should she schedule a doctor appointment, or a health care facility. Early trimester fetal care is vital. Good health, nutrition, daily vitamin dose they will prescribe is all vital for develpment of a healthy baby. Females must remember they are not alone in the well being of their bodies when they become pregnant. Pregnancy means a future human being, and the care of that future human being starts the day you concieve.

In my personal opinion I think as soon as you show signs or find out you are pregnant. The first thing you should should do is make an appointment to confirm and then get prenatal help.

It is wise to go to the doctor when you believe that you are pregnant. Good quality care though out the pregnancy is wise. It can discover potential problems from the beginning and isn't that what you really want?
Be pro-active and see your doctor as soon as you suspect that you are pregnant.

My doctor didn't want me to come in until 12 weeks, but I requested to come in at 8. If there's any reason at all that you might be considered high-risk, you might go in earlier.

While you're waiting on that first appointment, I'd get some pregnancy books and start reading. You can also go to www.epregnancy.com or www.pregnancyandbaby.com for a lot of good resources.
