Greece right now is wonderful, extremely peaceful, no violence (apart from some burglaries here and there), we are on good terms with all nations and we all have a good time in Greece, great weather, food, lifestyle, the only problems are:
1. more and more expensive life, but not high salaries
2. not very good hospitals (they do work, and the doctors are excellent, but you have to wait long queues, etc).

Of course it's peaceful! We haven't been in a war since 1945! Economy is not so good, but people here know how to spend their money and have good time!
Believe me, everyone who comes and sees Greece's beauty don't want to leave!

The country is doing well, the people are doing quite well but the government as ever is NOT doing well.
And Athens despite the influx of migrants still has one of the lowest crime rates of a major city (4.500.00 people) in the world.
Only tell your parents to be careful when they walk as the Greek drivers feel they are in the races all the time.

I really think that Jorge who lived here and he is not Greek,could give the right answer but I'll give it a try.
I believe that it is quite peaceful here in Greece.Criminality is one of the lowest in the EU.The economy could stand improvement but your parents won't find us living in shacks!They will find it difficult to drive though,because we get quite crazy behind wheel,unless you are coming from India or Afganistan where I hear complete chaos prevails in the streets.
I think your parents will love it!

Very very peaceful,not the best economy of the world but its ok.The fact is that there are many foreigners here and if they keep coming we won't have any economy or peace in the future.

For the past 2500 years Greece and Greeks are doing just fine. No problems and no worries.
You are wellcome here and once you come you'll never want to live enywhere else in your life.

The economy is not the best of the world,but everything else is great.
Right now I believe that Greece is the safiest country for someone to live.
