How do can I make activated charcoal easily?

I need these urgently and I cannot use any chemicals to create it!

A hot oven ??

You need a kiln or a forge as the reaction happens best with heat between 600 - 1200 Celsius.

Most universities and colleges will have access to this equipment.
Activated Charcoal eh ? interesting project.
