Yes, I've read the book too and thought it was amazing. Never heard of anyone else reading it until recently (read when I was about 11) - but I've never forgot the story. Think it was the first properly "sad" story that I had ever read. Really opened my eyes to what others can go through. Thank you for bringing those delicious memories back!

Yes, it was a very good book, it's years since I read it, but it's one of those books that you never forget. I did see the film as well, but I preferred the book.
"I Capture The Castle" by Dodi Smith is another of those unforgettable books, that stays with you for the rest of your life.

I last read it about 20 years ago, loaned it to a friend who never gave it back to me and have now lost touch with. Perhaps I should buy another copy one day but I still live in hope that Lakshmi will find it on her shelf one day and think oops, better give that back!

sure, no longer a lot unhappy endings as poignant scenes Eva Luna through Isobel Allende - it truly is a good e book, in case you examine it you'll recognize the scene I advise. also her non-fiction account of her daughter's ailment and shortage of existence is amazingly unhappy and makes you cry on the finished element at the same time with it is tragic end. tremendous expectancies through Charles Dickens - I wager his others do a similar, he knew the thanks to exploit it! i imagine many times you would cry as well even as some thing is on the point of homestead or rings real for your human being journey, the position human beings interpreting it would no longer. notwithstanding both books above i imagine you'll cry!
