im gonna assume u dont have a wireless network... what u do is burn em onto a dvd or cd, or go buy a 1GB USB storage device for 20 bucks and put them on that and then just move em over that way

You probably want to share the internet, right? So buy a wireless router (cheap) and it also adds a form of threat protection.

Both pc attach via the router. On the pc, make the folder shareable to the network. The other upstairs pc sees this in the network group, and can open and copy from it.

If you have Bluetooth, you can share files that way too.

Copy the pictures to a "removable device" such as a floppy, CD, DVD, or USB memory drive. And then take the device to te new computer.

Or you can attach the pitctures to an e-mail and sent them to the new computer.

copy paste them to a new folder with files in it to sort thru them while ur finding what you want and don't want to transfer. You can then copy files to disc or you can buy an external hard drv, save the files to that, unplug the ext hrd drv and plug into your new comp and dwnload it. then you could use the extrnl hrd drv (portable) when someone else has photos in their camera or their comp, plug in your extnl(portable) hrd drv anywhere.. any time . i hope i didn't confuse you
