This may sound stupid but it was used by my school - play using a golfball - it helps with hand to eye co-ordination - you will often see cricketers playing on the field with a small hard rubber ball - throwing, catching and bowling!
A golfball also behaves in a similar fashion - spin - straight - curves - it all adds to the hand - eye co-ordination - once you have got to grips with that - the bigger ball is an easy target!
Plus practice - often

If you are training alone then:
Batting..bounce a ball off a wall and then play strokes this is very helpful. you can make the ball into a yorker stand closer to wall or full lenght etc by just moving closer or further away from wall.
Bowling aim at one stump in the batting cage!!!

Join a club, play catch with mates, get some spring back stumps and bowl repeatedly until your arm falls off, practice in nets (indoors and out), get a mate to bounce (feed) a ball for you to either hit or defend, practice with a rubber ball for playing bouncers, play catch solo with a wall etc...the list is endless, enjoy!

Practice.
If batting play straight! Monty is the most classical batsman in the England team - it won't do him any harm long term
