Lead all other cable news shows in the ratings?

I dont understand, if America is so bad, which is what CNN tells you the majority of Americans think, then why are the mass's switching to Fox, where they tell us that America indeed has problems but the problem is not America?

Simple: FOX News leads all the other cable shows in the ratings because they provide a different perspective than CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC. Americans are tired of the no-holds-barred liberally motivated America-bashing and Bush-bashing that is engaged in by the mainstream media. FOX News is not part of that mainstream crowd, and to a certain degree they're right -- we have our problems but many of them come from outside our borders in the form of (a) countries who hate us but love our money, and (b) radicals who want to kill us all and destroy our country for no other reason than the fact that we are Americans. You won't hear that on the Clinton News Network or the Communist Broadcasting Service. As far as they're concerned, the countries that hate us but love our money are just trying to compete in the world market, and the radicals who want to kill us are misunderstood so we need to reach out to them and give them economic opportunities. Wrong and wrong. Defend the others but blame The Man for all the evil in the world -- that's the foundation of liberalism, and We The People have had enough, so we're voting with our dollars and our viewing time. Sit back and watch, and you'll see the ratings for FOX News go up.

Actually, their ratings have been down. News shows on TV are losing ground to internet sources such as CNN online. Most people don't watch the news unless something major happens. And if something big happens, they will want accurate reporting and will likely watch CNN or the major networks. When 9/11 happened we all watched CNN. Ask anyone and that is the majority reply. Why? Because they are the best source.

And popularity is no way to judge either relevance or quality. The caliber of professional reporters is very high at CNN, the Fox team are not in the same league. I am sure that People magazine outsells the New York Times, but that doesn't really mean a thing, does it? Besides, FOX News has a pretty high percentage of apologizing for misleading stories to it's credit as well.

And I love that the person above me mentions Pravda - umm, it's 2007, not 1956 pal.

The reason Fox news is as "popular" as it is...is because there are more and more stupid people in the world. Intelligent, well read, well educated people don't have many children...one or two perhaps...many do not have children at all. However stupid people are multiplying like rabbits. Thus it has come to this...stupid people have now overcome intelligent people. The only way to correct this is to encourage intelligent people to have more children. I suggest the government pursue a plan to reward intelligent people for having children and reward stupid people who do NOT have children. Fox news is enjoying good ratings because there are so many stupid people out there who think they are getting unbiased news from Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is not stupid. He knows his success lies with attracting stupid people to watch news and disguise it so that stupid news seems to not be stupid. I regret that I can not explain this whole scenario to stupid people. But...God bless them...they just don't have the brains to figure it all out.

Fox News and the Fox Cable News Channel lead in the ratings and draw more viewers because, regardless of what twisted liberal propaganda CNN and other lefties might spew, most folks go to Fox News for the real truth and commentators like Bill O'Reilly cut through all the crap and bs and get to the meat of the matter and tells it like it is...which for the far-left observer, cuts like a knife.

I don't think Fox News is fair and balanced as they say. There is a decidedly Conservative slant to how and what they report. What I do think Fox provides is a more positive view of America than many other mainstream news sources and I know this appeals to a great many people. I don't particularly trust Fox any more than any other news source and therefore treat them the same. What I mean by this is that I always look for additional sources and information on any story before forming an opinion on it. In order to get a good view of events you must examine multiple sources.

Because just maybe most people actually DO think for themselves and at least by watching Fox news, both sides are presented. Where else can you hear that? People are always bashing Fox new, but I doubt they have actually watched it. I also think that we always hear the 'down on America" crowd the loudest, and maybe the silent majority is getting sick of it.

Because people want to hear both sides of the issue and Fox is about the only one that gives youy the news from both points and fairly.

Because, despite what the biased news media tells you. Fox truly does give both sides of the story.

From the research I've done...I found out that once upon a time Fox News USE to tell the truth...till they were threatened. I can no longer stomach the rudeness of O'Reily, and Hannity and Combs. They are not fair and balanced. They rudely interrupt guests and don't let them get a full sentence out of their mouths.
I have switched to CNN for news...but you really should watch C-Span if you want to really get the full hard cold facts.

one answer DAN RATHER. abc, nbc and cbs were a political party for 50 years and they do not like someone actually reporting the news. You can tell by the hate fox gets from the left, they never say anything bad about PRAVDA or Al Jizeera.
