Thanks for your answer and I know your trying to help but some Turkish banks offer as much as 25% interest in some of their accounts. I just wondered what one would be the safest and with guarantees.

Why limit yourself with a Turkish bank? You have access to MUCH higher interest bearing accounts on the internet, through 'Direct ' accounts.

ING is currently 4.4%
GMAC Direct is currently 5%

and the list goes on HSBC Direct, etc.,etc.

At a traditional, bricks and mortar you will be LUCKY to get 3%...so do the math....which is your best choice?

Yup, you got it...the FDIC insured Direct banks.
