Seems like it sometimes. Really, people hang on every word they do, what they wear, who they sleep with, etc. I can't be the only one who doesn't give a xxxx I'm too busy getting on with my own life, aren't you?

Funny that so many are saying they don't care, why then does this type of trash continue to exist? Someone MUST be interested somewhere??

Perhaps most people on here don't care. Those that do care don't have time to contribute to discussions or voice a sensible opinion perhaps because they are too busy catching up on the latest?!

Anyway - for the record I don't care either. Don't buy glossies, tabloids, watch soaps or reality TV - instead I try to improve my understanding of the world by learning new things whenever I can.

However, I am a high school teacher and I would guestimate that at least 50% of my students are bothered about such stuff. They all seem to watch programmes such as Big Brother and Eastenders etc. When they ask me about such things I try to explain that I don't have any interest without suggesting that it is a waste of their time (although I feel that it is). Instead I try to encourage them to do other things and to see beyond the influences mass media has on their lives.

Overall - I think society is becoming obssessed with cheap celebrity and easy fame (X Factor etc). I really wish we could move forward from this to a point where hard work, morals and ethics are rewarded over this tacky approach to life.

I also dont care about what they do bu my friend knows anything ask her anything about anyone and she knows it all. But where she gets her info from is from Tv and magazines. So if they are a whole bunch of lies then thats what she belives. And she never questions to herself that it isnt true. Most people will deny that they care about celebrities. I must admit sometimes I do wonder what they are doing while they arent working on something. With all the money they've got I wonder what they do with it. When I stay in bed late I do sometimes think would they do that all that money..do they actually ever work. It doesnt have to be a celeb it can be any rich person. But I do wonder what my friends are doing when Im bored so its not that I'm really interested. Yeah I guess I'am to busy. To busy with my own problems and things I have to cross. There are loads of people that do and loads that dont. The most interesting of lives is always told by how much they know about others.
I do sometimes find that its strange those who no loads about celebrities it might be sick but for some people its there way of dreaming that one day they will meet that person.
It is out own opinion but I do agree that there are too many of them and I agree that you arent the only person who couldnt care less...because I dont.

Oh, someone tripped on a step. Let's put it in all the magazine headlines and act like it's something to care about!

I don't give a flying toss what the celebs do because most of them are just a bunch of idiots who don't deserve the money they have.

No there must be millions of people who dont care about 'celebs'. When we didn't have a TV it was so liberating.
The problem is, some people must be interested or they wouldn't be celebs in the first place.
I wonder how many of them regret the complete idiots they make of themselves for the sake of making a few more quid?

I couldn't give a xxxx what most people get upto unless it has an outcome that effects myself, family or friends. Celebs only survive because of the general public who like to follow their every move by reading about them in newspapers or magazines.

In part yes, most of our celebs aren't worth a T****. and I really don't care who sleeps with who, who wears what. What I care about is their talent. If a talented celeb has a new movie book or song out and I like the celeb I may be interested. trouble is these days celebs are often famous for being famous and don't actually do anything worthwhile. So long as it harms no-one who cares, if it does harm someone, famous or not I am interested in that I want to know it has not gone unpunished.

I am not interested. My good lady does, however, read and enjoy certain magazines. Watches programmes I wouldn't and does have an interest in the 'picture perfect life style' they lead. The good lady does not purchase the mags every week, perhaps once a month, also is very level headed about their 'catastrophes'
I have never been able to establish just why.
Still I am a news 'junky' even when on holiday I can only go about 3 days max without buying a newspaper.

I don't care either, i think it's ridiculous. I mean OK they star in films, and music and stuff, but that doesn't mean that we need to know every detail about them down to their shoe size...It's quite pathetic really ! I also think its silly that just because some people don't want to know what celebrities are doing from day to day, they are considered to be very odd indeed, when actually the people who are obsessed are surely the odd ones... If you knew every detail of an average persons life you would be accused of stalking so why should these individuals be any different??? Sorry if this offends anyone but I think that the whole trend with being celebrity-obsessed is just pointless, why bother about their lives, you've got your own to worry about...wake up people !

Many people have called me strange for being the way I am, but they don't seem to realise that I DON'T CARE.

It's actually quite a relief to find somebody else who feels the same way, thanks for that.

I don't give a crap what celebs do. There must be plenty of people that do though. I am more concerned whats happening in the life of my friends and myself. My life is like its own soap opera so it keeps me and many others entertained. I don't need these celebrity mags. Celebs are just normal people like me and you. They just have a job that puts them in the limelight. So what if they go to the shop looking like crap. I do every Sunday. No one bothers me so just because they are famous, it makes front page news. How sad.
