There are many. We have the Boogie Man too, but in South Africa it is traditionally known as the ' TOKOLOSHE' and there is another version that haunts bathrooms called 'pinkie-pinkie'.
The Tokoloshe is the more serious one as it has adult believers who are petrified at the mere mention....

The Boogy man has many colors of.... skin. All shades of green, yellow, red mixed with green. There are many Boogy Men. The Camping Boogy Men, have dirt and dead bugs stuck to their skin.

we have a tokoloshe here in SA... well, popular amongst the Blacks. but he also bothers little kids during bedtime...short fury thing with big eyes often sent by evil people especially witches...Bad witches.
