my laptop only has works on it,does anyone know if i can change from works to word and where i can get it from & cost,any info much appreciated

Get OpenOffice. It's free and is compatible with MS and other office suites.

You can save works documents as word documents, hit "save as" and put it into word format.

But if you want to actually buy word mine cost be around £120, unless you can get the student addition (exactly the same but cheaper) or a pirated copy! It's pretty easy to install, same as any other programme.

If you have Word on another computer you can download a file converter that allows you to open Works file in Word....

If you want to install word on your laptop your best best is to purchase the teacher and student version which has the lowest price out there.

It's simpler to save it as a text file and copy to a Word format if needed. Coversion software is problematic when it encounters formatting so what is available is rubbish.
