Nothing at all. Pound is the formal word, quid is merely a slang term for the same thing. Many British coins - predecimalisation had slang names - 'bob' for a shilling, now 5p, for example. There aren't any, that I know of for our current coins. Someone did suggest a pound coin should be called a 'Maggie' after Margaret Thatcher - as it is rough round the edges and pretending to be a sovereign! But it never caught on.

No difference, they're the same thing. A quid is kind of a slang term for a pound.
