I think maybe it would make sense that we change things round. We the people can determine which is night and day!
Not that anything will change, we simply sit our clocks ahead by 12 hours. Like daylight saving time gone mad!

There is darkness during the day and at night, night is part of the day. The reason it is dark at night is due to the fact that at night we are facing away from the sun-the sun of course does not go down, our position changes. At the poles 'daylight' and 'night' times go on for several months as sun being away from that particular part of the globe for longer. And the moon is often seen during the day time.

Hi there, there IS darkness during the day - it is just too bright for you to see it. Get out of the sun (behind a tree, in a cave) and you will be able to see it.
I once sat up all night wondering where all the light goes, when it dawned on me.
Cheers, Steve.

Because of the positioning of the earth around the sun. During the day the country you are in is closer to the sun, and at night the earth has rotated so it is now facing away from the sun.

The words "night" and "day" describe the time of the day. Every language has a name for when it "gets dark outside" and when it's "light outside".
The terms are created around the darkness, not the other way around.

get a tennis ball,( cricket ball if you are English) and a torch .OK now turn on the torch and shine it at the ball. The torch represents the Sun and the ball is the Earth.See how the light only reaches part of the ball ,well that bit is in daylight(torch light) the bit that is in shadow(oh do this in a darkened room) that's night time.
Hope this explains your question

Darkness and light change due to the revolution of the earth. You would merely switch the names.
Counterpoint, while it is night here, it IS light on the other side of the planet.

the reason we have night and day is because as the earth turns on it's axis, the part of the earth you are on will turn towards and away from the sun. we call the time we are turned towards the sun 'day' and the time we are turned away from the sun 'night'
this is also why we have a need for time zones across the globe

because during day sun is there in the sky,but in the night the moon is crossing through the sun and so we will not get that muh light which we are receiving at day time.
