I treasure the 38 years and counting I have shared with my best buddy and partner in misadventure. We met when she was 15 and I was oh, so much older and wiser, at the ripe old age of 20. We wore each others maternity clothes, and celebrated the arrival of our children, just two weeks apart. She fills my life with laughter. Add to that treasure, the sound of birds singing in Winter, the sound of crickets strumming in Summer, the freshness of the air in Jamaica after a sudden shower, the scent of my daughter's hair, the sound of Nessum Dorma, echoing through Piazza San Marco in Venice, the aroma in a Starbucks. the touch of my true love which made me tremble, and finally the colors of sea glass I've picked up along every beach I've seen, and you have my collection of priceless treasures. Only one surpasses them all, the sound of the still, small voice of God, inaudible but heard by your heart.

The little things.
Listening to crickets at sunset enjoying the spring growth.
Having a decent conversation full of heart, humor, and discussion.
Reading a book in my leisurely time.
Watching the rain fall in the summer and breathing it's invigorating scent.
I treasure the little things in life most; the simple and honest, because in the end they are what hold the most meaning.

My favorite treasure is having my Mothers' home made cutting board. My fathers' father made it and OH! the stories it could tell. It is PRICELESS! I always tried to get my Father to tell his tales about his childhood/teenage years and the such: he wouldn't do it. I found out later that he had been a rascal! He stole watermelons out of gardens and tomatoes...tsk tsk tsk
His stories would have been a life treasure. Now, I can only guess. My Mother was German and her beef/noodles dish was glorious and bread pudding would melt in your mouth. I cannot replicate her dishes...it's a shame. But, I can recall the taste and smells of her cooking....mmm good! Are you talking about traditions?

Hanging out with my mom and my brother, having a few glasses of wine and laughing our butts off at old stories of when we were kids.
