Ok... What to compare it with... Ever pulled off a sticky plaster that's really sticky ? it's about that on the lower legs, it get's more painfull as you move up, but you get used to it as you go.
It's not unbearbale but why not try an epilator instead ? if you're going smooth and want to stay that way, it's an investment, and after the initial run (which hurts about as much as waxing) it's a lot less painfull. I have a Braun silk-epil that's very good, and cost about the same as enough wax to strip myself three times. ( a months waxing for me)
Veet ( formerly Immac) cream is good too for under arms and difficult to see places.... but can irritate the skin and delecate areas, so have plenty of E45 or nivea cream handy.
If youre in the UK, I recomend Tesco wax strips, they are just as good as Veet strips and cost a little less. Be sure to follow the instructions for pulling the strips off, if you get it wrong you can get unsightly bruises amazing pain, and no hairloss.... also it leaves waxy deposits on your skin hat are difficult and irritating to remove.
Good luck... it feels GREAT afterwards !

not too much, and i am a really big wimp!!!!
Behind the knees is the worst. But it really depends on the person waxing your legs. I would recommend that you get a professional to wax your legs to start with.
Go ahead, you will love the feeling on smooth legs.
If your getting them waxed for a special occasion I would get it done a day or two beforehand as sometimes you can get red spots on your legs with the hair roots have been pulled out.
Goodluck :)

I am due to have my legs and bikini line done tomorrow, I've taken my first lot of Nurofen Plus just to get the dose going, will take the next dose on waking up and then another lot just before. Does that answer the question?! I am a wimp though but I do keep going back for more which says it all, the pain is worth the effort! Good luck :-)

The first time is probably the worst to begin with you'll be a bit scared when the wax strip is removed you'll feel a stinging sensation so it's not as painful as you think if cold wax is used there will be lessend pain

The first time is quite painful, especially if you shave your legs. After you've waxed your legs quite a lot, it doesn't hurt as much.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

It stings pretty bad, but it doesn't last long and then it's all over for weeks. When I remember, I take a couple of apirin half an hour before hand and that helps, but it might be psychological ;o)
It's worth it to not have to bother with doing anything afterwards!

It does hurt - makes you wince, but very briefly - it is over in a couple of seconds. Talk to the beautician at the same time and you won't notice it as much.

Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn't - depends on your pain threshold. Anyway, if it does hurt the results are worth it. Just be glad it's your legs and not your bikini line!!!

first time will be horrendous, especially if the hair is quite long, but th epain is worth it and the after the first few goes the pain starts to ease off as you get used to it, though it will always urt to some degree.
