Only if I'm not sure how to operate that type of machine.
I usually will just read the initial setup pages just to make sure I don't forget anything important, and the health risks, if any. Then I keep it for reference in case I need it later.

nah, instruciton manuels are for sissy's BUT I always keep the boxes of new appliances, I have learnt the hard way that without a box there is NO exchange when the darn thing packs up - your box is your guarantee!!

Not at first but after not being able to put 'it' together after a few hours we normally then bring out the instruction manual. hahaha
I like going through cell phone manuals.

If I need to. If I can find the damn thing, it's usually lost by the time I realise I need it. Which can be a bit of a problem.

personally, this mite sound geeky but i love reading manuals of vid. and dig. cams, umm, and electronics that have an artistic touch to them. i like to get to know the software they instally at school too. i like to squeeze every last drop out of em.
