The leader of a Brownie or Cub section or pack is a SIXER. This is because there are six Brownies or Cubs in a section.

In Scouts it is a Patrol Leader and the section is called a Patrol.

I.e. you have 24 Cubs that meet each week. They are always split in to sub-groups of a maximum of six children, for easier management for badge work, games, quizzes etc. Therefore you would have four groups in this theoretical meet. If you had 28 kids there would be probably three groups of six kids and two of five kids.

As each sub-group has max six children, the leader of each group is called a Sixer. This is not the adult leader, this is the child given the responsibility of five other children. It's a privalege position.

The adult leaders are:
Brownies - Brown Owl
Cubs - Akela.

Hope that helps :)

In America, a Cub leader is 'Akela'. In Britain it is a 'Sixer', I believe.
