Anything he can do without using his legs. A dvd player and some movies. A few good books. A journal and a nice pen. Your undying affection and your willingness to help him do the small chores he can't do. Laundry, post office, etc.

If he has been like a member of the family to you than you must be knowing about his liking and what he is fond of. Things in general are, wheel chair?, books of his choice?, audio-video cassettes?, etc. and above all your company!

ask him what is his fave game to play
some people like checkers,monoply.etc.
then sit and play it with him your company could be the best present he can ever have. or a good book written
by one of his fave writers remember good company and good friends make a human smile get a Good movie
watch it with him.
