Most cases will work as long as the motherboard fits and it's got a working power supply min 350 wt, higher is better, as far as doing it yourself, I've seen far too many people destroy good computer parts because they don't know what they are doing. If you would like to learn go as a computer repairman he should be able to give you pointers. You can look online but the fact is if you don't know the difference between and AGP slot and a PCI slot you won't get very far. Do you have any computer background or are you just taking a stab in the dark, Trust me, I've built dozens working at a repair shop, you'll spend a lot more money trying to fix your own mistakes than if you just let someone trained do it, and if you ask most will show you what to do.

Here you go, try this.

Don't be discouraged I started with a pile of computer parts I bought at a compusa closeout. About three months later I actually had a computer that worked. Yes there will be ups and downs but that is how you learn. I did not have YA answers like you do. If you live in Phoenix I will show you, or tell you by email. someone helped me and it is important to pay it forward as they say.

I don't know what part of the country you live in, but the company called the Geek Squad should be able to help you. They are pretty good from what I have heard.
