I am considering buying a gaming console but I can't handle a Xbox or PS3 that's why I am trying to buy an older version.
Is the memory expandable. And one big question is that where do we have to connect these consoles to view and play?

The PSP is portable, you don't need to connect it except for when you want to recharge it. You can expand the memory for the PSP, up to 4 GB I think.

The PS2 requires you to have a television of course.

I'd recommend the PS2 if you want to play games mostly at home. It's got a HUGE game library, tons of great games of all genres (Xenosaga, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto series, Max Payne, SOCOM, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid and tons more). The online gameplay (if you choose to buy an adapter) is also really fun for a lot of the games. And you can play PS1 games on it, which practically triples the entire PlayStation console library. The PS2 doubles as a DVD-player and CD-player, too.

If you want to play games on the go, if you travel a lot and get bored, then get the PSP. It also has some fun games but I have to say, they're not too exclusive. For instance, GTA: Liberty City Stories... That was on the PSP for a few months, and then Rockstar ported it to the PS2. The PSP can also play some movies (both on the memory stick and on UMD discs, but UMD are discontinued now) and music. So it can do more than play games.

Games will cost about the same, too.

In the end, I'd say the PS2 unless you are more into gaming on the go.

PS2 is all you can get is a 8 MB memory card to save the games but you can buy as many as you want and You just hook it up to the TV will have instructions in the PS2 box. It is very simple just plug it in and plug the other one in with the same color.

If doing a lot of travel then go with PSP

I would pick the PS2 myself. I have both but really not a portable gamer as far as the PSP. It is a good little system though if you want one. Oh and if you are at home you can use the AC Adapter and play without the battery life to bother you.
