1.) i need to label the x -axis as atomic number and label the y-axis as the atomic mass . there are no units for atomic number,but atomic mass has a unit of(u).This stands for atomic mass units.

2.) for each of the first 85 elements in the periodic table,plot a point representing the atomic number(x) and the atomic mass (y).

Remember-: Atomic Number = No. of Protons
Atomic Mass = No. of Protons + No. of Neutrons

You will find you get a curve, this is because as you go up the periodic table, the elements have more neutrons than protons.

Just print out a periodic table and graph it using excel.

They would be impressed if you use this one as it is highly accurate with numbers. (Mass number is at top, atomic number at bottom)
