im downloading a zip file..

I dont belive a zip file can have a virus itself. However, an executable file or something contained IN the zip file may. Make sure to right-click on the extracted files and scan with your antivirus software before opening the files contained within the ZIp file.

Think of a ZIp file as a container. I'd watch out for .exe files and software installers packages within the ZIp file.

Any downloaded file can have a virus in it. That is why it is important to have a good anti virus software to scan with before opening up the file. I use the anti virus program by PCTools. They are not free, but they are one of the best.

yes and ISO files do you know on Limewire when you click on one of them files there is 100% virus in them and that gets on your computer when you open the file

Yes, scan them before downloading if you don't know the person or source sending them.

First use Norton to scan the zip files..........

if it is a setup.exe file then you cant scan until u install it to system...
if setup.exe files have virus, then its you and your antivirus's skill to remove it........
