At 6 months your bab'y main source of nutrition should be breastmilk or formula. If you want to start on solids you should start with rice ceral. Than introduce fruit and veggies but one at at time to detect food allergies. Eating solids is new to your baby and it may take a few feeding sessions for him to understand the concept of eating. Just remember to be patient and pick up on his cues. If he is turning his head and staring to get fussy call it quits for that session. I also saw that someone said t give him honey. Children under a year should not have honey. It puts them at risk for infant Botulism which is a food poision that can result in death. hopes this helps and good luck

At 6 mos., your baby's main food should still be breastmilk or formula- so NOT give him cow's milk until he is a year old. You can also start to introduce the baby oatmeal mixed with breastmilk or formula.
If your child is not eating properly and you are concerned, you need to call your doctor or go to a free clinic to have him evaluated. He may have some sort of condition or allergy that needs to be dealt with.

Try giving her little honey mixed with water.
Put a little pure honey on her tongue.
Do not worry. No child ever dies from a lack of desire for eating. Forcing her to eat will make her only rebellious. When she is hungry she will eat.
Gently massage her belly and lower abdomen with your palm. It will help for find relief from gas problem if any.
A sure-shot remedy. Press her calf with your bare palm - the area between her ankle and knee..... the fleshy backside. The acupressure points of stomach etc are located in this area. Press for 1 second and stop. Press and stop. Repeat 30-40 times. If your baby has stomach problem, she will feel pain and will not like your pressing. But carry on nevertheless. Gradually in a day or two the pain will subside and the baby will feel natural hunger.
Try this, when your baby eats normally, send me a thank u note. If these treatments fail (unlikely) then I will give some other advice.
Best of Luck !!!!

A baby can get plenty of nutrition from breast or formula. With my children I introduced solids more as something for them to try rather than for a meal. I breastfed for a long time with each of them and they put on weight and stayed healthy.

Breast milk or formula should be babies primary nutrition at 6 months.
Honey can cause botulism in babies, and should not be given before 2 years.
